Attendance & Payroll
Attendance Readiness Before Payroll Processing
Payroll accuracy begins with complete time records, resolved exceptions, approved schedules, and a formally closed cutoff.
Payroll errors often begin before payroll is calculated. A missing time entry, unapproved correction, incorrect schedule, or unresolved leave request can change the result for an employee and create avoidable rework for HR and finance.
Use a readiness checkpoint
Before releasing payroll inputs, the organization should confirm that the attendance period is complete and controlled. A practical checkpoint includes:
- Confirm that every covered employee has a complete attendance state.
- Resolve missing logs, corrections, and schedule exceptions.
- Validate approved leave, holidays, rest days, and overtime inputs.
- Require the designated owner to approve cutoff completion.
- Lock the period and retain a record of later adjustments.
Make exceptions visible
A useful HRIS does not hide incomplete data. It surfaces exceptions, assigns them to the right reviewer, and records what changed. This allows payroll teams to focus on unresolved items instead of manually checking every employee record.
The objective is not simply faster processing. It is a repeatable control that gives HR, finance, managers, and employees greater confidence in the payroll inputs.
